VC Review: Metroid (NES)
This start to the Metroid series was originally released in 1986. I never got to play the original as I wasn't born at that time.
21 years later just before the franchise's 4th FPS title (Metroid Prime 3: Corruption) was released, someone in England downloaded its oldest predecessor "preview" of the FPS. He pointed his WiiMote at the channel box and selected it. He turned it on its side and began to play.
The first thing he noticed was that he could only shoot a limited distance; this annoyed him when he was attempting to shoot creatures over long distances so he could make sudden dashes to the other side of the room without taking any hits. Later on he discovered a power-up that allowed him to shoot unlimited distances.
Moving onto power-ups, very early on he came across his first power-up: Mari-Mari. This would eventually become known as Morph Ball and allows Samus (The Playable Character) to turn into a ball to access small spaces and tunnels. Other power-ups include Missiles (A more powerful weapon) and Bombs (For use in Morph all mode).
The controls are EXTREMELY simple this list should show them well:
D-Pad: Movement/Aim Up
1(For WiiMote)/A(For Classic Controller)
2(For WiiMote)/B(For Classic Controller)
Overall: 10/10
Genre: Shooter
Sorry to end so randomly but I'm in a rush.
