Default Umbrella Chronicles + wii zapper review!

Im really really really impressed with this game! Didnt realise it was out yet but popped into gamestation and see it sitting on the shelf and nearly wet contemplating taking the game back on the sunday. But i stuck with it and after about 20 mins i was hooked as the action started to pick up.my pants. Ever since i finished RE4 i have been needing some zombie blasting action and it has finally arrived!!

I loaded it up Saturday night and my first thoughts were that i didnt really like the game, it felt too slow and really quite boring and i was infact

Ofcourse the game starts off slow, this is for you to get adjusted to the controls like any new game. The control system is quite easy to get used too, i dont know if your like me and tend not to read the instructions and just pile straight into the game not knowing exactly what your meant to do. If you are then dont worry because it introduces you to all the controls as you work your way through the first level and within this time switching guns/reloading/using your knife and throwing grenades becomes like second nature.

Its the mutts nuts this game and the further on you get the better the game gets because it throws more and more enemies at you and you never know quite what delights are behind the next door or what gun to use. This i think is very important! You start the game with a Pistol and a knife, the Pistol is a nice little weapon, its not too powerful but it has unlimited bullets where as teh other guns do not so use those weapons sparingly for the beasts that really need it.

It was a nice feeling going back to the days of Resident Evil and walking around the mansion again and up the grandstairs in the entrance hall and meeting the zombie again who is crouched munching away on some poor persons head. Felt twice as good taking him out again but with the wiimote this time! Select weapon! aim! Fire!Blam blam blam your dead muthf**ker!!! Blam! one more for luck.... then it all goes mental woohooo yippeekiaaaa....

The game is on rails but you still get to chose which way you go at certain points in the game, overall i think the replay value of this game will be quite good. I Would love to go into greater depth but i feel that would ruin it for the peeps that have not played it yet, if your over 15 and you still have room on your xmas list then definitely add this game along with the wii Zapper!

I have not touched a wii zapper yet but after watching some vids on the net i think it will definitely enhance the gameplay, for one it seems that peoples aim is a lot more steady than just using the wimmote. I think im gonna go and buy a 3rd party gun tomorrow if i can find one, i will get the wii zapper when it comes out but this game is 2 player so 2 guns are needed!! Twice the blam.... Twice the fun!

Its a great game

Graphics 9/10 - top notch for the wii!
Gameplay 10/10 Excellent!!
Lastability 9/10 I think you will keep coming back for more!!
fun factor 10/10 It is fun!!

Buy it!!!

purchased a 3rd party gun today for 12.99 from gamestation and my enjoyment levels have gone up ten fold!!! I cant find a picture of teh gun anywhere but it really is good.... I imagine it to be what holding a shotgun would be like

You definitely get into teh game even more with the gun blasting away swapping through the weapons with your thumb on your right hand and using the index finger of your left hand to pull the trigger.

One thing i was worried about was getting to the A button but the truth is it is actually easier to play this game with the gun than without it. Your surrounded by zombies your bullets are running low just give the gun a quick flick and its reloaded in no time.

My accuracy has improved as well as its a lot easier to hold the sight steadier than with just the wiimote. This gun makes you feel like you are in the thick of it in mansion surrounded by Zombies adn teh only way your going to get out is by using the gun in your hands.

After awhile i was so into it that i was shouting at the Tv as i was taking zombie after zombie down wishinig for more of them to walk into my gun sight so i send them back to hell!!

One gripe i have about the game is it seems you have to stand up when playing it as the gun sight sort of loses where its meant to be on the screen if its held at angle to the tv.

Its best to play this game in pitch darkness with the curtains shut for full creep effect, some of the levels you are underground with just torch light to keep you company and boy is it jumpy doen there!!!

I started off on normal soon cranking it up to hard now i have my shooter!!

This quite simply is the best gaming experience i have ever had in my bedroom! Again i say to the knockers of the wii zapper, it is not just a piece of plastic! Its a piece of plastic that kills zombies!

RE umbrella chronicles and the wii zapper are must have buys for the wii!!

Blam Blam!!

I was telling the boys at work about it and have ended up bring my 23 inch samsung wii and gun into work sos we can have a go at lunch time!!

I think its going to be a blast

Updated scores with the Wii gun!!

Graphics 9/10 - top notch for the wii!
Gameplay 12/10 Even better!!
Lastability 11/10 I think you will keep coming back for more!!
fun factor 13/10 at least seein as i gave it 10/10 before!!

This is officially the best game i have ever played!!

Ever

The fact RE will be so much better with it might actually make me buy the Zapper.

By 'on rails' do you mean you are guided round the levels, like House of the Dead and other arcade shooters?

Great review! Definetly going on the old list, was worried it'd be rubbish...but I love House Of The Dead and Virtua Cop so looks like it lives up to them type of games!

yeah as said before, give us a reason to keep the gun and I'll be happy IE Virtual cop / HoTD / Time Crysis and then have resi: UC - also would be nice to have the other two resi rail shooters that were released as well..

Rail shooter's can be a bucket load of fun as long as they have challenge to them.. but by the sounds of things this one does.

Can't wait to play this on my 32" widescreen... gonna be mint!
