Yes. this is the first ever Virtual Console review! Aslong as no-one beats me to it!
I first downloaded this game a while back...Although it was a complete impluse buy I quickly downloaded it (for 500 points, quite cheap). I have not regretted it since.
Firstly it appealed to me as it was a sports game, with some ok reviews it looked alright.
So, there's 6 teams; Canada, Russia, USA, Finland, Poland and Sweden. Although there could be more it's still enough. Again there's 3 player types; Thin, Fat and medium...All have there advantages (e.g thin being quick, but less strong) which I found quite extraudionary for a game years back...There's no actual tornements but it's still exciting and offers a 2 player option. There's quite a lot to do, the graphics are of a SNES standard and it goes by basic Ice Hockey rules which fits in nicely.
I found it ok. Although I've never played it in real life I enjoyed it. It kept me entertained for a few days. The replay value isn't great but what can you expect!
Graphics; 7 - Standard, could be better, could be worse
Gameplay; 8 - Surprisingly fun...The 'cut scene' and other features are decent
Controls; 7 - Although many don't like them, I found them brilliant. Very simple and effective
Replay value; 6 - Good if many mates want a go...But when there's wii games around who can argue?
Value; 8 - At £3.50 it's hardly breaking the bank...It's also low on the wii memory.
Overview; 36/50...My advice; Good game, if you like sports or something original and different then go for this!
