Hey all this is my take on Super Mario Galaxy!
Ok have not seen this brilliant game reviewed yet so think ill take a stab at it.
Lets start off with my opinion first.. yes its a fantastic game!
oneof the best I have played!
I would not consider it the greatest game ever (dont think anything will ever compare to smash bros melee, cept brawl) but thats just my opinion, its definately in the top 5.
Lets start some hard facts then!
Gameplay... Ok this game plays like an absolute treat! controlling Mario is smooth and it is very easy to get into the game.
As with most systems the first mario platformer released is usually a ground breaking game! This one is no exception
The ability to leap off a planet and just "float" around to the bottom or even all the way around is just amazing!
The galaxies themselves are varying and challenging! It has been accused of being too easy but to be honest thats just people who have not advanced in the game far enough yet!
The many puzzles in the game are also quite a treat and each one I found very enjoyable, its not just the platforming chaos thats superb!
The different costumes and the ability to power from planet to planet using the teleport stars is just great!
The use of the lumas in the game is also a good idea, gathering the special green stars or feeding the hungry lumas to reveal new galaxies!
Overall I would say the gameplay was brilliant -

Controls... The use of the Wii remote in maro galaxy is tremendous! Using the remote to spin mario and pick up the various star bits on the screen, really immerses you in the game!
The people who say they are "tacked on at the last minute" are just idiotic! The controls really add another level of depth to the game!

Story/Enemies... Ok Am I the only one to think the story was a bit of unoriginal? Bowser is on the offensive again and is after princess peach for another diabolical plot, remind you of anything?
The addition of the lumas was a breath of fresh air though, even though Rosalina was pretty much an altered princess peach imo!
The games enemies were similar but there were some new additions! I am not complaining though I have and always loved the likes of Goomba / Boo and the Koopa Troopas!
The new enemies that have been added are fascinating, the dino pirahnas to the topman tribe!

Longevity... Well this game had the potential to last a very long time if your going to complete EVERYTHING!
Theres a total of 120 stars in mario's saga although you only need 60 to tackle the final boss level!
Then if you manage to complete all 120 stars you can
move onto luigis saga where you must use luigis advantages and disadvantages to grab another 120 stars and even go for the highly hunted after 121st star!
The 2 player also adds another aspect to the game, which will add even more hours to your game!

Graphics... When I first saw this game I really was not overly impressed with the graphics but then again I didnt really care whatsoever! I did not expect mind blowing visuals as thats not what the Wii is designed for, Mario Galaxy does have some breath taking moments though!
Like soaring through the universe after just bursting from a volcanoe that has just erupted!
Its been criticised on many fronts about its graphics but I am perfectly fine with the way they are though others may disagree!

Final thoughts: Nintendo I really do not have words for the amount of quality games you have produced and mario galaxy is way up there at the nose-bleed heights!
Fantastic game and a must buy for any nintendo lover!
