Default Metroid Prime 3 Review

Hey this is my review on the newly released game Metroid Prime 3.
I havent completed it fully yet but I dont think that should efect my take on it.

Lets start with graphics - Visually Stunning is the simplest way I can say it from the lush sheen of your armour to the spray affects of gunge on your visor from the attacking enemy.
The game really shows the Wii's graphic capabilities! I actually stand around and look at the scenery its that awe inspiring!

Lets move on to Puzzles, the metroid prime series has always had its fair share if enjoyable and challenging puzzles and this recent installment is no different, from navigating the morph ball tunnel mazes to destroying certain landscape to reveal hidden passages theres a a large variety to keep you enetertained.

The gameplay is fantastic from firing up your power beam to unleash in an opposing monsters face to using the space jump to access higher ground.
Theres a vide variety of different suit upgrades including weapons and morph ball advances to help you complete your objectives.
The enemies themselves are intelligent foes from the beasts that protect their weakest points o the ravenous space pirates that evade bullets and charge at you in a kamikaze dive!
This game does not dissapoint in unique challenges and chaotic enemy battles!

The bosses in MP3 are imaginative and deadly from gigantic monsterous beasts that lunge at you to huge war golems that fire energy beams.
They are a unique challenge which usually involve exposing a weak spot and using your different suit options to bring them down for good, accomplishing this usually gets you awarded for a brand new suit upgrade!!

The new system involving the reward tokens is a very good idea imo, gaining them by scanning technology:enemies/defeating bosses and discovering new areas!
Also the friend voucher system is ingenius, gain them by doing certain tasks and send them to a friend to allow them access to the green tokens, simple as that.
Then when you have amassed enough tokens you can purchase all sorts of artwork/soundtracks and trailers!!

The music in the game is great it really sets the mood of the game.
Tranquil sounds plays in the calmer areas such where creatures dance through the landscape.
Then you have danger music where your involved in a dogfight between you and a group of enemies or even a boss!
The music really adds to the experience! I hope nobody plays the game on mute your really missing out!

The controls are magnificent, from using the Wiimote to solve puzzles by twsitng and pulling to armed combat to disarm an enemy it really makes you feel like your there!
There is a steep learning curve though on getting the controls perfected, im quite far into the game and I still keep mixing up hypermode and visor mode buttons
The Wiis revolutionary controls really compliment with Metroid Prime 3!

Now theres not all pros to this game it has its certain let downs too:-
1. Sometimes the camera can be shifty in morph ball mode making it confusing on which direction you are heading.
2. When you shoot a door to open it there is sometimes a delay on the door actually opening up which is annoying
3. The controls can be a bit awkward at the start but that soon passes

Other than these minor inconveniences the game really shines!

Finally Ill say this last thing , if your contemplating buying this game I suggest you march to the stores and buy it asap it is a fantastic game from the stunning visuals to the strategic puzzles and exciting boss fights!
Even if you haven not played any of the prequels this should not discourage you from purchasing this awesome game!

9.5/10!

Any feedback on this review would be much appreciated!

Some ingame visuals!

Nice review, but i think the delay on the doors is because it is loading the next area, considering most of the time it takes ages, the next room is big or outside. Still annoying though

Nice review Solar!

The more I hear and see about this game, the more I feel I may have to part with some of my cash for it! I haven't seen any bad things about it yet and I'm really interested to see what a decent FPS plays like on the Wii.

Yes that's right, I saw the IGN video review and they mentioned it, but you have to agree it's better than a loading screen

Yes, It is a loading thing. You can hear the disc drive going crazy as it tries to get all the data for the new section. however I do think it's better than the game suddenly pausing while it loads the next bit, like most games do. At least you can look around at the beautiful scenery while you wait. Another way to get round this is to shoot the door while you're a long way off. that tells the game of your intentions and it begins to load before you get to it.

nice review Solar!
