MySims:
A game where you are given a run down, down and out town which you have to return to a vibrant place full of life.
First things first, settling in by building your own house (as you do), you are given a reasonably large plot on which you can basically build your dream home. Once this task is completed the Mayor will show you to your workshop, and surprise surprise that has not been built either. This time you are given a much smaller plot, still a reasonable size though, on which to build a workshop. Once this is done a 'learn as you work' type tutorial will follow in which you build a chair. With me so far? Good.
Once both of these tasks are done you will be given a chance to explore the town, with instructions to precede to the Town Hall as soon as you have ten Apples. I would recommend using this time to get used to the layout of the town (although the is a map if need).
Once there the Mayor will ask you to build her a pedestal to practice her speeches on. Once you have the blue print precede to your workshop and start work.
Now, one thing I haven't explained yet is essences. These consist of everything living (and not) in the MySims world. Things like flowers, Apples, fish, stones and even tires. Everything produces different things, take Apples for instance. These make any object you place them on more "Yummy" which makes the object more attractive to the Sims in your town. Essences also produce paint, which can be used to decorate yours and others houses. The colour depending on the item.
Once you have built the pedestal then, the Mayor wants you to add 3 Apples to it, do this. Then deliver it to the Town Hall. You will get some blue prints and cowboy and cowgirl outfits (Yes, you heard me right!).
In the top right hand corner of the screen you will see 5 stars (empty of color) and a wavy bar underneath them. Your town used to be a five star town but now it is a no star town. To return it to its former glory, you will need to do odd jobs around the town such as, making flower stands for the local florist, or making an oven for the local pizza restaurant. Doing these will fill up the bar, once you have filled the bar one star will appear, meaning that your town has been rated as a one star town (You don't say).
Filling up the stars will make the town more attractive to other Sims, who will then hopefully move in.
While doing all this the is of course lots of, meeting the locals, fishing, exploring new areas, planting trees and helping them to grow and more along those lines.
Summary
Pros
Fun, objective based game.
Nice, very Nintendo graphics.
Good, simple game play.
Easy to grasp.
Great item and character customization. Cons
No online play.
Some people may say that the use of the Wii-mote is not exactly innovative.
A lot of text in dialogue
Some could describe it as 'kiddy'.
Over all this is a fun and enjoyable game. My advice, if you liked Animal Crossing you'll like this!
I used to have the sims on PS2 or Xbox I think. I did enjoy it but you would be so busy making sure your character was well fed, been to the loo, had a shower etc. etc. It didn't leave much time for fun, more about survival.
I remember reading they were going to make one different, by being more objective/mission based, and not so high maintenance. Did you play previous Sims? if so, is this very different?
