Hey monkey! I would recommend it! It is a good shooter, but you do need a certain level of skill to get 'critical hits' (Top of the head shots - it will become clearer if you get it). It's good to play with two players or on your own. I got hooked on it for a while - my file was around 30 hours.
There is enough of a story to follow and things to shoot (enemy variety is good) and the bosses are quality.
If your going to get it, I would say buy a pre-owned copy to save a few quid - unless you have to get the stars. I haven't played it for a while now - but then I've had hours playing on RE4, Geometry Wars:Galaxies, and now Battalion Wars 2 so it's on the back burner - played it with some mates though - that file is around 5 hours.
If you like shooting things then get it. If there is another game out there you are considering, check out some user reviews on various sites first and compare (gamespot, IGN etc).

Hope this helps!
