Now, before I get going I would like to point out that my original review isn't wrong (as I'm never wrong
) I've just changed my mind slightly...
My original review still stands as far as the single player mode goes, however after paying a bit closer attention to my mates 4 children playing the 'Party' option I soon realised that the 4 player option was a completely different game...
As with football, Sonic & The Secret Rings is a game of two halves. The first being the single player mode which I reviewed in my previous thread with quite a poor review. The second, being the Party mode where upto 4 players can pit their wits against each other during some fantastic mini-games!
The Party option within Sonic & The Secret Rings is on a par Warioware: Smooth Moves, so if you liked that game you will like the multiplayer option of this game.
When playing the Party option you have 5 places to choose from as shown here:
At the top you have the tournament, where (as the name suggests) you have to compete with each other in a tournament to win! And the other 4 options are the different places you can compete with each other on many different fantastic mini-games!
At the start of each mini game you are shown how you need to hold the controller and some brief instructions on what you need to do, as shown in the first image above.
The other two images show two of the many mini-games. The first being Canoe Survival where the controller acts as the canoe paddle that you have to use to keep moving forward before you fall of the edge of the waterfall. Last one on wins!
The second image shows the mini-game where you have to remember a combination to the safe, the first one to open the safe wins!
The mini-games get better and better and each time I have now played this with several mates, we end up playing this game for several hours at a time!!!
The image below shows the leaderboard in the Pirates Coast area of the game:
In this particular area you need 60 points to cross the finish line and get the treasure!
All-in-all I would now have to say that the multiplayer (Party) option of this game is fantastic and would highly recommend it to anyone who has enjoyed games like Warioware: Smooth Moves.
As I have stated previously, my original review rating still stands for the single player mode and this review and score is for the multiplayer option as it is completely different to the single player mode.

Gameplay: 9/10 – Party mode much better than single player
Graphics: 7/10 – Good, but not outstanding
Sound/Music: 8/10 – The in-game music is OK.
Overall 41/50
