No More Heroes
I bought this game on the cheap (£25) and while the main game itself is short it is worth more than that price tag.
Many of you may know the general gist of the game but for those who dont i'll explain briefly.
You play as Travis, an assasin who wants to be the number 1. His weapon is a beam katana (read lightsabre) and you go about killing the assassins ranked above you.
But how does it play?
Attacking with the katana is performed by pressing the A buton, with finishing moves initiated by swinging the remote in the direction on screen. You can also perform grabs, execute dodges and go into a power up mode. I would say that the combat can be quite shallow, it would be even more so if when u bought a new katana that the fighting style didnt change. Thankfully the styles do vary with each katana, offering more variety to combat.
The pacing of the game is good, until u get near the end where u have to amass a lot of money to gain acess to the next ranked battles, especially if you decide to buy all the katana upgrades, training in the gym and clothes.
The world of santa destroy itself is pretty lifeless, i would have preferred it if there were no cars as they just get in the way when driving the bike.
While Santa Destroy is lifeless, the characters are not, i'm sure you'll find yourself laughing at several points in the game, as even though the story is pretty weak, the dialogue is not.
Overall this game is worthy of your attention, its one of the few that tries something different, and oozes style in the process. Put simply, buy this game and hope that a sequel sorts out the niggling problems.
