...On the eve of the release of the PS3. The biggest, most powerfullest, most graphical...
....FLOP! the world has ever seen.
Flop, you say? That's right, it will be, and is a huge flop. Sony have got it so wrong today.
Woooh! Hold on, I ain't here to slander Sony. I ain't even against them. Just look at any website tonight... Play, Amazon, Game, Virgin Megastores. Do a little search for PS3, what do you notice? And now do a search for Wii, and what do you notice??
That's right!!!
Anywhere, you can order a PS3, and you can be guaranteed it tomorrow or the following day! Why? Because Sony have managed to outprice themselves with something that only competes with the XBOX360. They haven't done anything special this time. This time, their fan base has backed off.
Now, you searched for a Wii right? Oh ho, and you noticed their still sold out in the majority of shops and online stores.
So, it seems that the console war is officially on, but seemingly, the initial battle has already been won.
I heard on the radio the Sony UK Representative stated it was more "Future Friendly" and more "Technologically superior and advanced to the other consoles in the battle"
He seemed to think the small turnage of the PS3 controller outclassed the 100% movement of the Wii...
He also said that Sony were amaking no profit in the UK, as selling costs, and i quote, "Selling costs so much in England"
Well, IMHO, people have finally seen the true side of Sony. Thank god they brought out the PSP in the UK. I myself only found out about the Lies behind the name when I bought the PSP. Gran Turismo Mobile was meant to be a launch title... but no sign of it. Next, Sony released a statement that it would be released within the next 3 months as there are a few minor glitches to repair. Then, 2 months down the line, we were told it's finished and going into production. I now look at my collection.... where is Gran Turismo Mobile??? NEVER released. Furthermore, no sane person will rush to buy a PS3 just yet. Why you ask? People want to use the PS3 not only as a Games Console, but aslo as a Blu-Ray Disc Player.... but wait... what about HD-DVD.
Ooooh, Arrrr.. The war isn't over. We all remember what happened between VHS and BetaMax.
People have finally realised the lies behind the name and will wait this one out. I myself would only buy the PS3 if, by chance, they happened to win the format war.
I was talking to my Uncle and I said, "I'm not sure whether HD DVD will win over Blu-Ray". He asked "Why do you say that?"
My reply? "Well, everywhere I go, all i see is shelves stacked with Blu-Ray DVD's and hardly any HD-DVD's."
Fair and valid point...., I thought. He then went on to point out that this was because people were BUYING the HD-DVD's and no-one wanted the Blu-Ray discs.
Realising this, I now believe HD-DVD will win and I really hope Sony tank in europe, leaving the 2 logical consoles on the market... the Wii and the 360.
That says it all really. They are never going to get the casual gamers market with a machine of that cost. And its the wrong time of year for parents to seriously give in to pester power.
Surely Sony's market reasearch showed them NOT to release a ps3 in March at a price most people consider too dear?
It's just generally common sense.
People would have come close to bankruptcy after Christmas. They've then saved up a bit and Sony shove this up their a**. Not a very clever move. Infact, a very stupid business decision.
Up untill a couple of months ago i would probally of waited for the ps3 and bought that but i was so relieved when i got my wii that i didnt...the wii is like a disease as soon as anyone comes to my house and plays with it!(the wii) theycatch the bug and want one...i cant see the same thing happening with the sony ps3,but imagine what the next wii might be like with better graphics.....
