Exclamation Hay Festival
As some of the more regular posters may have noticed, I haven't been around much recently (certainly nowhere near as much as I used to), and this has mainly been down to this thing called the Hay Festival. Firstly, have a look at Hay Festival Wales : Home Page to get an idea of what it's all about (in a word - books). Now to give you some idea of just how busy it's been, here's a couple of pictures

After 2.5 days (this is about 3/4 of my empties - had no more room here for any more!):



In total, in 2.5 days the main bar (5 pumps of ale, 3 lagers, 2 ciders and 1 guinness) sold over 1000 pints of ale, 200 pints of Guinness and 400 pints of lager and cider. Thats 1600 pints in (give or take) 30 hours, between two bar staff and myself. If we say I've sold 400 'other' drinks (bottles, spirits, soft drinks), thats an average of 66 drinks per hour. Or, each bar person, if serving non stop, served a drink every 2.5 minutes. And that doesn't include the beer festival! I've been catching up on the weekends paperwork all day today, and working this out I felt justified not being on wiitalk for a while!

Sad, I know, but a couple of you guys might find that interesting!

Lol, unfortunately, with winter so quiet in these rural areas, all the money made gets ploughed straight back into the business. Think of this as collecting wood and berries in summer to store for winter...
