Jamaica Here We Come!! - WiiTalk

Just wanted to brag a little that Chris and I have finally booked our holiday.
The choice was between the Greek Islands and Jamaica.

We went to Samana in the Dominican at the Gran Bahia Principe resort last August and loved it!

After searching for weeks to try and find something within our budget I stumbled across a 5* All Inclusive hotel in Jamaica, which just so happened to be a Gran Bahia Principe and within our budget for two weeks!!!

It looks absolutley stunning and we cant wait, in about 6 weeks we will be sunning ourselves in lovely Runaway Bay, ultimate paradise!

I can't recommend the Gran Bahia hotels to anyone enough, especially those that like somewhere a little more for adults, for great complex facilities and food.

On the list of things to do while we are out there, visiting Bob Marley's Grave, having a day on the catamaran, horseriding along the beach at sunset and hopefully swimming with dolphins for the first time!

Oh how wonderful. I'm pleased for you. It certainly does sound exciting. You'll love the swimming with dolphins. When my dad and I did this in Tortola a couple of years ago, he had the biggest beam on his face (and it takes quite a lot to impress my ol' man).

If you get the chance to, try SCUBA diving. Swimming in that crystal clear sea with all the wildlife around you is breathtaking.

Have a nice time, but:

Don't go off for a trot by yourselves, stick with the tourguide at all times.

Don't allow yourselves to be befriended by any of the locals. There will be an alterior motive.

Don't, under any circumstances, agree to bring anything back here for anyone as a favour, not even fruit!

Seeing as you hadn't heard of the dangers of dealing with Nigerians, I figured you may also not know how keen the Jamaicans are to either get themselves over here, or to send drugs over here.

Hope you and your fella enjoy soaking up them rays

I know someone who went to Jamaica a couple of years ago all inclusive and she spent half her time getting the local kids there dinners

they were apparently putting there orders in and she was trotting off to get them food all the time haha! Don't be this soft, enjoy your hols

Ohh and il have, 3 quater pounders, 1 with cheese, 2 x chips, and a large order of onion rings

Sweet JA. Another country that is exploited by tourists. Where the poor are getting poorer and the rich get richer. The government is corrupt. A good friend of mine who is from Trinidad came back last week after 2 weeks there - he said it is sad to see the massive divide between the rich and poor. The markets have more sellers than buyers, the education system isn't good at all, and crime is bad. But, I guess going to a holiday resort you wouldn't know anything about it.

Thanks Sue, been to the carribbean quite a few times so have experienced the locals being over friendly.

First time I went to the Dominican I had a young waiter who worked in the hotel follow me around for the whole week telling me he loved me and asking me to marry him!

I will be doing as many excursions as possible, am just in the process of selling most of my belongings for spending money.
