Default Booking a Holiday to Florida?

Chris and I are looking to book a holiday to Florida.
I'm currently researching about this on the internet but there is soooo much to look through I thought I might get some quicker more informative opinions on here while I'm at it

There are probably a lot of people that have been to Florida before, but has anyone been just themselves and their partner?

Obviously we would like to go somewhere in America for the entertainment and theme parks etc so we figured Florida would be the best place to go.
The thing is, as Chris joins the police force in September we can only go before then.

With the kids on summer holidays its not the best time to go to a location filled with theme parks and Disney resorts. The kids usually break up on the 18th July if I'm not mistaken?
If we go when the kids are still in school are we still going to get ques after ques in the parks? Will it make a big enough difference to justify going at the end of June/beginning of July?

Apart from Florida, would anyone recommend any other locations (in the world, not just USA) that would be ideal for a couple?
If we are going to go somewhere like Florida then it would be cheaper to stay in a hotel I think. But anywhere else a little quieter in the world then we would prefer a private villa

Thanks in advance guys

Well the US school holidays are different to that of the UK, so I would say first find out when they are. -

I think they go back mid august, may be mistaken, but if you went at the end of august then you ay avoid this.

As for queues, queues are the same throughout the year you will never beat them at ny of the US parks.

Florida is a good place to go, but at this time of year be prepared to find exhausting heat, so if you do go, make sure you drink plenty or youll end up in hospital, as your body wil not be used to the heat.

Hope that helps a bit

A

Lol! Yeah I've been before and the heat was intense, dont worry. I'll stack up on the water and cooling mist spray
Well I know the ques would be shorter in the months like Jan and Feb etc, but then you have all the other factors of not as many in park events, some ride closures etc etc. and we would prefer to do the 'summer for summer holidays and winter for winter holidays' etc it just wouldnt be right otherwise!

Thanks for the help Guk!

Florida holiday was the best I've ever had! Make sure you check out the Rock n Roller Coaster ride along with the Men In Black one... I went on those too many times to count!

If I have one word of warning though it would have to be...

Epcot

Why that has the Disney name attached to it I will never know... It's about as magical as Mojo's Armpit!

Thats what we are going for mainly, the theme parks especially the roller coasters, I just cant get enough of them! If I was in America I would become one of those travelling gypsies to make sure I would be able to visit every theme park there.
And Ive never been to Alton Towers!
Ive been to Florida about 3 times but all when I was younger and had to follow the family around while we went on "family" rides that we all would like.

I remember going to Busch Gardens and the first roller coaster my twin and I saw was Montu we were just dying to go on it but werent allowed until we had been round the whole park as nobody else in the family wanted to go on it. So we trekked round the wholeof the park all day and went on a few smaller coasters, by the time we got to Montu they had literally just closed the gates I was so gutted!

Thanks for the PM Hilly its very interesting!

Would you recommend the best time for us to go?
And anywhere you would recommend to be a more adult orientated hotel rather than staying at a hotel thats swarming with little devils?

I have every intention of coming back in a few years when my children will be old enough to enjoy it (no, I have none yet!) so would like to experience it with just Chris and myself first

Don't they have one similar in Disneyland Paris?
I'm pretty sure it was in Paris that I went on a Rock n Roller coaster, it was wicked! I was about 16 at the time I went on that one, and it had an Aerosmith theme to it. One of the most memorable coasters yet.

the universal hotels are slightly more adult orientated (quite reasonable too) maybe do a split 1week there 1week in disney? port orleans is nice and quiet in disney!

as for times to go theres only one time period in my mind and thats late september to october for halloween halloween is just amazing (especialy horror nights at universal the scariest thing ive ever been too!) the crowds are quiet the weathers great (apart from the ocasional hurricane)
