Staring me in the face is a transaction showing £592 has gone to "Virgin Nigeria".
Suddenly I am skint as hell.
What makes me really cross is that I am so cautious. I check every cash machine before I put my card in it, and I only buy from safe websites, and only ever enter my card details when the payment page is secure.
But still it has happened. I could physically murder someone right now, I am so cross.
For anyone wondering what you do under those circumstances, I have already contacted my bank (Loyds TSB), who have promised to refund the money, although it will take about a week. Plus they will send me a form to fill out so they can try and get the people concerned. My card has been cancelled and a new one should be with me early next week. So the scammers won't get any more from me, but they may be getting some from other people as we speak!
So I will get my money back. I am grateful to Lloyds TSB for being so efficient and helpful in that respect!
But that doesn't cheer you up. Going offline now. I am so cross I can barely type!!!

Lucky you for your bank to sort it out in a week. My dad, with HSBC, lost money after someone used his card. The bank took over 3 months to get it sorted, and hundreds of forms had to be filled out. They even got the blokes address, but never thought to contact him. In the end we got the money back, and put it down to the bloke having a very similar credit card and getting the credit card number slightly mixed up.
And then, some person managed to get onto our PayPal account, change the address, and order a £500 mp3 player. They hadn't changed our email address though, and PayPal were very efficient. They realised it was a very large amount and recognised that the address had suddenly been changed to somewhere in London, so they contacted us for approval. The money was eventually refunded to us.
Anyway sorry to hear about what has happened, but it's good to hear it will be sorted out. I hate when it has happened to us, because you lose your trust in shopping online, and makes you feel unsafe whenever you are online.
Just got back from my local branch, where they kindly printed me off a list of transactions for the past few weeks.
Trouble is, my account is so active, I can't always remember everything I've bought, so trying to sift through 7 pages (and that's only back to 12/3!) is a bit confusing.
There's a few payments out that I'm unsure about. I wish I knew who
"PTI EUROPE REGION GBP" and "SPR*DEAF SINGLES" are. There's several small payments going out to both, and I don't know what they are for at the moment...
If both of those turn out to be legit, then the only other possibility is a cash machine withdrawal (which I did) from a machine at the Macarthur Glen outlet in Ashford on 27/3. That's 3 days before this £592 was taken (didn't appear onscreen until yesterday - 3 working days)
I really hope it is the cash machine withdrawal, as I really don't want to lose faith in buying stuff online.
Anyway, I'll keep you all updated as I find anything out.
And I really hope it does only take a week to get the money back!!! I can't afford to lose that much for a long period of time.

100% certain it's the cash machine withdrawal. I've just called Lloyds TSB's fraud department and told them. They're going to find out if there's any CCTV at the Designer Outlet where the cash machine is.
Miss Marple, eat your heart out!
Feel a little brighter now. But not much.

So sorry this has happened Sue but pleased that it looks like things are going to be sorted, even if it does take a week or so. £500 is alot of money to be without even for a short space of time.
Luckily this has never happened to me although my best friend had his credit card cloned and got taken for over £2k! Luckily for him he got it all back eventually.
There's far too many dodgy people about in the world now and it annoys me that you have to be so careful about simple things like taking money out of a cash machine. Good job that the designer Outlet has CCTV cameras (I know the place well as my sister lives in Walderslad and I grew up in a village not far from that area called Hoo, unsurprisingly!).
