Hi Guys,

Im really stressed out right now, I've so much going on in life my head is spinning!! I thought it might help to write it all down so here goes:-

1. Re-mortgage (nightmare!!!!)

2. Stopping Smoking. (Not easy this week)

3. Sarah is going to Java to see her dad in 3 weeks – I worry that she comes home in one piece.

4. I have yet another stone in my chops which is quite painful and annoying (waiting on referrals to specialist surgeons), this is very frustrating because I cant do anything about it myself and this is the 3rd stone in about 6 years!!

5. Sarah’s pay date has changed this month so money in general is very tight.

Why is it life chooses to throw everything at you in one go rather than spreading the worry out a bit more??!!

Is anyone else having a nightmare right now, TBH it feels as though the world is against me.

Sorry to hear you're having such a bad time mate. i think it happens to all of us. Just be strong and hang in there.

We had to remortgage as well an still in the process of. God knows why they cant just transfer details over instead of having to fill in all the bleedin' forms. We went through a Mortgage Advisor which helped though.

Stone in your chops ? I presume you mean kidney stones. They say its the worst pain a man can experience so I do feel for you. I've been told to cut down on tea/coffee and just drink loads of fluids. Hope it is small enough for you to pass it , otherwise you'll have to wait for the butchers .. oops , Surgeons I mean.

i don't know what is happening in Java now but she'll be alright if it is her country of origin. If it were you going to Java, I wouldn't be too sure !

Sorry, I should have been more specific. The stone is in my mouth (at the back under the right side of my tongue. Its about the size of a pea.

Here's some info: Salivary Gland Stones (Salivary Calculi) symptoms, diagnosis and treatment: Patient guide The first stone I had was removed along with the gland itself about 6 years ago, the 2nd is stuck just under my chin and im told cannot be removed due to its location, the 3rd is the one I have right now and has an infection starting to back up behind it.

Because I've already had surgery and the location on the stone its very hard finding a surgon thats willing to take it out UNLESS the swelling becomes so bad I cant breath or eat

To say its a worry would be an understatement.

As for Java its not Sarah's or my ethnic home but she is very used to travelling and living in 3rd world Muslim countries, I still worry though, Jakarta is not a nice city for a western girl even if she is with family.

Moon Unit, you have my deepest sympathy. I feel your stress!

I don't mean to make light of the situation, but, man, are you SURE this is the right time to give up smoking?

I know it's expensive, but I'm sure you'd cope so much better with it all if you had a long drag of your favourite brand of cigarette. (This comes from a non-smoker by the way, but I know how stressed people get when they're giving up!)

I'm sure things will ease off. They do for most of us. But you need to have some "you time" to get a grip on things.

Thanks Sue, some "me time" would be a good thing, your right about that. As for smoking I really want to continue giving up but if things get on top of me I'll perhaps re-think the situation.

I know we all go on about the health issues, and how everyone should give up.

But at the end of the day, you're an addict, and going cold turkey on anything you've developed a dependence on is tough enough in itself without all the other stuff troubling you at the minute.

It would not be a crime to leave the giving up until Sarah is safely back from Java. You'll be much happier then.
