Just phoned and got my broadband and phone bill £about £7 cheaper a month and upgraded to the 10MB package Will post a speed test tonight

Hmm seems to be about 1 and half MB Nicko? Do you know how far you are from you're exchange? Virgin Media uses Fibre Optic cable now, that's why I get pretty much the full 10MB or more sometimes lol, other ISP's it depends, so you may just be a little too far from you're exhange to get the full speed? Have you tried powercycle the modem, just unplugging leaving 30 seconds and plugging back in?

Nicko do you use a wireless router? that can often times slow a connection just because of wireless internet. you could also be limited by your Firewall/virus software.

I have also experienced that the less RAM and less processor power your actual computer has the internet will go slower. that is if you have a REALLY bad computer.

if you are running on a network are any other devices connected/using the internet?

I tried it wirelessly at first, but then used an ethernet and still got the same speed. I do believe I'm too far from the exchange to get full speed but I know I can get at least 3MB as I've got that in a speedtest before. I'll run another now and see what result I get.

Yes Nicko, try a couple of speedtests and post the results... Did you reset you're modem aswell just to be sure.

Now that is most definitely wrong. There's no way the ping can be that high.
