Computers affect the speed? Didn't think they would, only the ethernet cable, which nowadays is standard to 100mb...which would only be used over LAN. With the speed test its testing the connection, so it should show the speed your connected at anyway

I know, I have had a little tweak with all settings and nothing

I am planning to phone them tonight (before 8pm) to get through to someone in UK and then if I can't get it sorted. I will be changing to o2 Broadband by the end of the month.

i use vista at home and xp in work..

must say when loading some websites with ie, it freezes, weird, even on a new build it freezes

But to the freezing i think its caused by javascript on the page...some reason it just doesn't like some sites... i've only ever come across it once but a restarting the browser sorts it out for me...FF and IE did the same on that website so dunno wats going on there
