If you look at the forums, it can take up to 2-3 days (yes that's DAYS) before enough "sheep" are downloaded and it gets going.
It's the only downside...but after this, everything runs really smoothly.

Quicker Way: go to the "current flock" / the best of the current flock
over here.
Manually download 5 or 6 sheep and save them to the cache directory (see wiki link below).
It's enough to get you started and, after the w/e, you'll have your own evolving flock
Read this FAQ ..... answers all q's very well.
I gave up the first time I tried it 'cos i was sso frustrated with not figuring out what was going on (ie the server lag). The second time (about 4 months later), I did as above and everything went fine. Well worth it imho (looks faantastic and is free)
