A common myth that macs are only good for graphics.
Internet on a mac = no spyware, no adware, firefox available, no worries surfing
Word/office on a mac = runs faster and smoother than it's PC cousin
General OS stability = no "blue screen of death" on mac. Mine hasn't crashed in 4 years.
Viruses = not on a mac
Spyware = not on a mac
Basic games = similar on mac to PC
Hardcore games = PC better than mac
Printer compatibilty = on a mac, plug it in and away you go (no driver installation)
In fact, ANY peripheral connectivity = plug 'n' play....I've never had to install drivers for any of my peripherals...ever
Installing progs = on a mac, drag and drop the app to wherever you want.....that's it, no installation progs, no delays waiting before you can start using it.
Uninstalling progs = on a mac, simply drag the app into the rubbish bin, again, no waiting for uninstall progs (only to be told "all components couldn't be removed"

) unlike on a pc
etc etc etc
On an everyday useablilty level, osx far surpasses xp/vista.....so I would say Mac's are more suited for everyone

.
The only area where PC surpasses mac are in a few legacy apps (and there are usually equivalents on mac nowadays) and hardcore gaming.
That's it.
PS. To get an idea of useability,
compare how to install fonts between a mac and a pc
Again, people who use PC are fine, they're just doing what they're used to and maybe don't like change.
Which is a shame because, for everyday use, macs
definitely give less hassle and do the same thing.
