Wasn't this developed by some of the original Google team? - read a bit about it on the BBC news website the other day. Seemed to suggest it trawls more websites more efficiently and accurately than Google - haven't used it as yet though.

Ahhhh, Cuil! I have used it before, my mate told me about it - i think its brilliant! Alot nicer than the majority of search engines around now and still works just as fast - if not faster!
Its ok but its an American-centric engine so if you wish to find a UK company, you are not going to have much luck. Also, Google covers so many things, such as Images/Maps/Mail ... they have a long way to go and are trying to get into a very over-populated market!

The engine was actually developed by a former programmer at Google who left, basically to create a better search engine. They claim its better and can actually archive more sites than the Google system, but it is American centric, for now. They just started. If its as good as they say, it'll get there, if not, it'll end up like the rest of ill-gotten search engines.
