Default Monkey Island Free! / Mac problems..
Apparently copyright has ran out on Monkey Island 1 & 2 and they are completely free to download.

However, the only Mac versions of this game that I can find are PPC files and I have no idea what they are or how to open them!

Any ideas?

The copyright hasn't run out. It's been classed as abandonware, which is still technically not legal. (Apparently copyrights last until 90 years after the death of the holder.)
But I'll leave that up to you to decide.

What I wanted to say was, I have never heard of .ppc files, but I know very little about Macs.

However there is a program called ScummVM which designed solely to play LucasArts adventure games. Best of all it has versions for practically every OS out there. I've never used it myself, but you should be able to download the version you linked to and play it with ScummVM.

Cheers. I've downloaded ScummVC & it plays the .ppc files fine!

Not sure how to save games yet (it says you can though) but it enables Mac users to play Windows copies of LucasArts games!!

The Monkey Island series is fantastic! Extremely funny games that are well worth a look if you have ever enjoyed point & click adventures.

I also recommend Broken Sword 1 & 2.

Monkey island is a classic that defined a genre. le chucks revenge (2) is by far the best one.
