It's the best version of the GBA there is, top quality and nice and compact. The screen is as bright as a DS lite as well.
The only thing I would recommend is playing it with headphones. The stereo sound from them is great, whereas the audio emitted from the pathetically tiny speaker in it is not worth listening to!
Seriously, if you still play GBA games, like me, then this is the only handheld console worth playing them on! It's cool.
Games owned (that I play): EA Playground, Endless Ocean, Excite Truck, Ghost Squad, Gottlieb Pinball, HotD, Kororinpa, Link’s Crossbow Training, Mario Kart, Mario Party 8, MySims, Pinbusters, RE:UC, Super Paper Mario, SSB Brawl, Wii Fit, Wii Play, Wii Sports
I can't really recommend any. Do you already have an MP3 player? If so, simply use the headphones you have for that.
I like behind the neck phones, my boys like them over the head, but most people these days just like wired inner ear phones.
Get whatever you are happy to wear, preferably with inline volume control (easier than the Micro's volume adjustment button), and get some with nice bass sound if you can find something in your price bracket.
Sky's the limit, but it'll make a huge difference to your gaming enjoyment!

The start and select buttons glow red when it needs charging, Then they glow (green/blue?) while chaging up and go off when it is fully charged.
I assume you've worked out how to go up and down with the volume and the screen brightness?
You click the button on the right hand side up and down a max of four times for volume, and hold the left shoulder button in while doing same for the brightness control.
