Smile The day we first saw the N64

Just watched this on youtube.

YouTube - Nintendo Ultra 64 on Bad Influence! CITV 1995

I can still remember watching this, and, after picking my up my jaw off the ground, instantly watching it over and over again!

Hard to believe that it's been 12 years.

Anyone else remember watching it?

Lol, I was 7

It's funny listening to the presenter say how amazing the 3D worlds were and the brand new, never seen before, controller Makes you realise how quick the gaming world moves...

Also I was hearing a lot of familiar phrases, such as

'It's an exciting new console, with incredible potential, But it's clearly behind schedule with a lack of finished games'

'It's so different from anything I've ever played'

'Nintendo have placed a lot of faith in the new controller, they hope it will encourage developers to create entirely new ways to play video games'

A few Nintendo trademarks there I reckon

Was great watching that though, I wish I saw it when it first came out I bet it was mind-blowing!

Oh and btw what game on the N64 every used the D-Pad and the Analogue Stick at the same time like she showed?!

I had a major crush on her and I was 18 at the time. I much preferred the format of the gaming shows back then. Far better than today's offerings. I wish platform games stayed in 2D though. I'm glad they still are on the DS.

Yep, it was mind blowing and the first time we'd seen proper 3D graphics like that. Even more so considering just a few years prior I was still playing games on my Speccy.

I cant actually remember there ever being a game that used the D pad and stick at the same time, maybe someone else can?

There's Retro Gamer magazine at the newsagents that you might like. Unfortunately is well over priced at i think £6.00 on the stands.

Imagine Publishing - Retro Gamer - Breathing new life into classic games
