Default Gamecube RGB Cable

Can this cable be used with a N64?

It works OK with the N64, but I'm not sure if it is actually an RGB picture.

Hang on and I'll go and check (I have the N64 set up in the kitchen)

Back in a tick...

Hm, must have discarded the original RF lead for the N64, so I have nothing to compare the picture to.

But I am as sure as I can be that it does produce an RGB picture utilising the GameCube RGB SCART lead. It certainly looks crisp with good whites, although it is only on a 12" portable here.

Hope that helps.

Hiya Blue.

If you're still around, drop a post in here and I'll see if I can help you out.

I had similar problems with the scart for my 64's, but a little snip here and there soon solved the problem. Let me know and we'll see what we can sort out.

Morning Sue, thankyou for the compliment.

I just know that when I bought a couple of Scart leads for my 64's I had to take out a resistor in order to overcome the 'no picture' problem. If indeed this is the case, it's not that great a stress to solve.

I wonder why some need his modification? My N64 worked with the RGB SCART the moment I plugged it in, and has never given me any problems.

As I said before, I'm not certain if the picture is actually RGB, as it isn't connected to a TV that can switch to show the difference. But I clearly recall being very impressed with the extra clarity after having viewed it through the RF lead for the first 2 or 3 years!
