I'm not sure about anyone else but the 'Your pokemon fainted' message in a battle (where you're doing rubbish ) seemed to strike me as 'kiddy' as its almost like its been designed knowing that the user probably can't handle the reason of death. Just my view which no-one will probably agree with but I just saw it in that way ...
I thought the early Pokemon series was pretty good, an interesting, different idea. But after a few series it started going down hill, and relied on repeating what had happened before.
As for the games, I enjoyed Pokemon blue a lot when I first had it. I bought Diamond a while back and was quite disappointed. Nothing has changed, which is sad, because they could make a really good Pokemon game if they tried.
I can understand why they made the first games at the level they did, because of technology restraints. But technology has moved on, the DS is many, many times more powerful than the original Gameboy, so why can't we have real time capturing and a closer connection to our Pokemon besides stats?
I haven't played any of the GC Pokemon games so I can't comment on them. But I own Pokemon Stadium and thought it was far too limited, and basically an expansion for the Gameboy game. I haven't played stadium 2 though.
I still play, all the time. I'm a secret addict. Although it's not so secret to my girlfriend, who can watch me rack up 20 hours per week EASY on Pearl. S'all good though, I got her a copy of Diamond and she's hooked too. I don't feel that 'shame' of being old (18 ) and still playing though, because my brother plays as religiously as I do, so there's always someone to battle/trade/plan training with.
