I don't know whether its just me but I find Diamond & Pearl too overwhelming, theres too many pokemon to get. Also did anyone notice how many new legendary pokemon there is?

Although my favourite was Silver, I still think every single handheld Pokemon game produced after red/blue has been mainly styled on the originals. I chose red/blue as it shaped the franchise for many more to come...

To make matters worse, more than a few of them can only be unlocked if you get a special pass/code from Nintendo themselve (at key events / via e-mail etc) so I have read. I'm not that obsessed !! I think that just adds to the whole frustration of the newer versions.
Another reason to love red and blue is that they are what started pokemon. Without them, there would have never been the anime, the TCG, etc. I still remember how me and my friend would stay up all night trying to beat eachother, and then I traded him my missingno, and I never got it back.

i just got one from doing a nintendo 1 hour long quiz and in two days i unlock a new email only pokemon
The Pokemon designs were more original and interesting in the first and second generation. The gaming mehcnaics of the last 2 genrations are better however. Though I think in general R/S has the worst selection of Pokemon designs ever. In D/P they are taking things too far with legendarys and events. 14 legendaries?!
I personnally think gold and silver were the greatest off all time. with the ability to go back to kanto when you have beaten the game is a great feature. although i wish nintendo brought them back to DS!!

Well, with "Johto" in Diamond and Pearls memory as a location for were Pokemon can be captured (which displays on the stats screen) is has been rumoured for awhile now the Silver/Gold series may be remade.
Current adventure games to play and complete to as close to 100% as possible - Okami and Paper Mario 64.
