Default Should I get a DS?

And if yes..... Why?

Currenlty I have a 360 and a Wii, the last hand held console I had was a gamegear, yes its been a while.
Im quite into RPGs so if theres any that people can recomend il have a look. Also what benifits does this have in terms of the use with the Wii? I have heard it can be used as a Microphone, is this to talk to friends or just in games?
Finally, the controls on Ds always look a bit awkward, especially the use of a stylus and have 2 screens, is this easy to get used?

Thanks in advance!

Well i had my DS before my Wii, and i love it.

The controls are easy to grasp after you've played it a few times, i tend to use one hand for the stylas, and one on the buttons. But games like new super mario bros are mainly button useage, with a few touch screen moments,

I amn't sure of using it with the wii, i dont think its ready for that yet (i could be wrong) maybe pokemon? anyway, they are going to make demos available to your ds, via the wii soon. a whole new channel.. in japan in november some time.

Go for the DS lite though, the screens brighter, clearer, and also (i feel) nicer to hold. Plus they have just released a very handsome silver one!

Games I have; <SuperMarioGalaxy> <wiifit> <Mario Kart Wii> <GuitarHeroIII> <ZackAndWiki> <WiiSport> <WiiPlay> <MarioParty8> <BigBrainAcademy>

Games I want <GH:WT> <AnimalCrossing:CityFolk>

Mario Kart - 1633 4320 0265 - Pm to check your there - full up.

Sometimes I talk pure Wii! Please forgive mii...

i find the main use of a handheld is for when you want to have a quick half hour or something on a game, but cannot be bothered with the turning on and waiting for the consoles to load up. i think the ds is great, its simple yet fun

i loved my ds although i have been neglecting a bit latley if you like rpg's mario and luigi p.i.c is good and very funny if your a nintendo fan! you could also try hotel dusk which is different to anything else i have ever played! the controls have always worked fine in my opinion but i dont have a massive selection of games! i love warioware brilliant use of all the ds features! mariocart onlines a must and for a quick pick up and play game i like tetris(online breathes new life into it)

Agree with the value of having a DS for a little burst of play when either you can't access the telly (when the other half is watching I'm an X-Factor Brother) or when travelling. Never under estimate the delays in airports (also wifi is free in most of them for the DS ).

God appeared to have reacted badly to Bede's prayer for electricity to charge his DS

I can't take my Wii to bed so the DS is great for half an hour of pre-sleep gaming. I know of at least one lawyer who has his DS at court to while away the delays.. .. .. ..

1.There will be more and more interaction between the DS and the Wii, with the Wii acting as a download station for DS demos (Hopefully) or additional features in games (Geometry Wars).

2.The DS can also be used as another controller for the Wii in some games (Pokemon Battle Revolution).

3. The touch screen is a little awkward at first, but once you become accostomed to it you wonder how you ever lived without it. Some games make good use of it, some make bad use of it, and some don't use it at all.. .. .. but I'd miss it if it wasn't there.
