Right then, I've had a Nintendo DS before (the original one) and I really liked it. At the time though, there weren't many games out that were worth buying. I had Animal Crossing (my favourite hand held game, of all time) and Mario Kart, they were the only games that I fancied really.
Anyway, I'm thinking of buying another DS (or maybe as a Christmas gift) and I just wondered if the situation had changed, are there more great games out now? And also, do you think I should buy a DS Lite, or the block like one?
The only criticism I have of it is the position of the inbuilt microphone - not so easy to use for some games.
Although it probably won't be of any use to you, here is a review that I did of the DS lite when I first bought mine, last year.
Honestly, despite having the Wii, GC, N64 & PS2, my boys and I probably still spend more time on our DS's than on all the main consoles put together!
Games owned (that I play): EA Playground, Endless Ocean, Excite Truck, Ghost Squad, Gottlieb Pinball, HotD, Kororinpa, Link’s Crossbow Training, Mario Kart, Mario Party 8, MySims, Pinbusters, RE:UC, Super Paper Mario, SSB Brawl, Wii Fit, Wii Play, Wii Sports
I was thinking of getting a DS lite myself Oakyboy. I know alot of people with them and also Call Of Duty 4 Is coming out this month for it
I wish it was on the Wii lol. Also there does seem to be lots of games for them these days!

Only don't get a white one as I've never seen an image of a black DS with the same hinge problem as the white ones have.
Games.. .. .. Harvest Moon (if you liked Animal Crossing), Pokemon (with NEW added wifi battles and trade), Pheonix Wright (Objection!), Zelda PH.. .. .. to name but a few.
And then there is the upcoming connectivity to the Wii.. .. .. ..
Oooh...you're in the same situation as I was - had a DS couple of years ago and there wasn't much I liked so I traded it. Now I've bought a DS Lite and am loving it! Am playing loads more that I did before - playing through FFIII and Pokemon diamond at the mo, as well as Brain Training and Brain academy.
Afraid I went and bought Nintendogs yesterday too....having had it with my first one....
Am planning on going for Animal Crossing next and poss Sims castaway....so much more choice now!
Plus, the Lite's screens are better I think than the original DS as I remember it. And soon it'll be linkable to the Wii - what's not to love about it?!
