Default Connecting DS to internet

I can't seem to get my DS to connect to the internet. It recognises my wireless router but just doesn't connect?

Any ideas?

I have that problem.

My DS detects the router but I enter the WEP key for it to bypass but it does'nt seem to work.

Try disabling the security on your router thats the way I get my DS to go wi-fi but luckily my Wii works all the time anyway!

(Do NOT disable router security if your prone to viruses/spyware etc.)

I found that problem with my wii. I went into the router and manualy added the mac from the wii into the settings, that way it doesnt matter what settings you have, the ds/wii/anything will connect.

That's hardly a problem with your Wii, it's just you not setting it up properly in the first place!

It IS actually connecting to the internet. From the sounds of it it's connecting to your router fine.

Your Router is connecting to the internet fine as long you can surf via other means....so in that case, after connecting to the router, the router would be fine.

.....if not (ie if you can't surf the net with anything else....your wii/pc for instance) then unplug the router for 30sec.....plug back in.....the router will reboot (which will cure a lot of router problems).

.....if everything above is fine, then it's the game server you're trying to connect to that's down (due to heavy traffic for instance). So let's say you're trying to connect to MarioKart DS WFC......then that error message means that Nintendo's MArioKart servers are down.

....or another way of putting it:

DS -->Stage 1--> Router -->Stage 2--> The Internet (your ISP) -->Stage 3--> Server for WFC run by Nintendo

It sounds like Your DS is fine, and you're connecting to Router fine (stage 1 OK)
Your Router connection to the internet (ie, via your ISP) sounds fine too (stage 2 OK)

BUT......Stage 3, Nintendo has a problem at their end with their servers (not your problem).

I have a Laptop, PC and my Wii running off the same router, all working fine, I've tried connecting to the DS (funnily enough Mariokart!!) on many occasions over the last few months, never any luck
