ds wi fi probs? - WiiTalk

hi peeps,right herewe go,set up a wifi connection on my pc for my son,had to use a wifi usb cos my wireless router wouldnt connect,its downloaded ok onto pc + works fine if i disable my firewall,but wont connect if the firewalls enabled? any ideas? the router is a netgear + im with aol...on the wifi site it says my router is ok, my firewall is mcafee security suite HELP PLEASE

can you not muck about with the firewall settings and change the program access settings to allow nintendo wifi connection. there should be a list of all progs allowed or disallowed, just click the selction to change it.

Perhaphs your router isn't compatible with the DS?

I had major probs with the wi-fi connector in that I had to disable my firewall to use it. I found no way round this problem and I started to get viruses galore every time I used it.
In the end I bought a BT Voyager 2110 router and now have no probs.
Is your Netgear router set up for WPA encryption, if so the DS can not connect through this, your router has to be set to the lesser 128-WEP encryption.

Thats the only thing I can think of.
