The Legend of Zelda: The Phantom Hourglass
Did a quick search, couldn't find a thread discussing this game, only one discussing the release date.
Just a couple of thoughts about it. It looks like it will follow on from WindWaker really well, the graphics are almost identical. Was this why the graphics on the Gamecube version so cartoony, so it could easier be copied for the DS?
Also, I saw a video for it, and it looks like it will use the stylus a bit too much, with the action being on the bottom screen. However, later on in the vid, it shows the main action either being on the top or bottom screen, although it was in Japanese so I couldn't understand it. Does this mean you can change the options so you can play it as a normal game, rather than controlling Link using the stylus?
i believe the reason why you may have seen a picture of the action taking place on the top screen and the map on the bottom is because they have included an option in the game where you can drag the map down to the bottom screen to make any notes you want onto it. this can be done at any time in the game.
so if you find something you think might be of use later on in the game then you can drag the map down, the action screen then temporarily utilising the top screen, and put a big arrow there. or writing. or whatever.
once finished jotting down stuff you then need to drag the map back up again.
apart from that. i don't have much else to offer !
I'm not certain, but I'm pretty sure you can only use the stylus.
As Wiiii said your map is on the top of the screen and the action is on the bottom, however you can switch to add notes to your map. A good example is shown in this video. It clearly shows the player (about half way through) reading a sign with instructions for the order of something then bringing to map down to write the positions on.
For sailing you bring down the map, draw a course and then the ship travels that course, leaving you free to aim the cannon. A while back a some gaming convention Gamespot talked to the makers and they told of a level where you have to defeat a giant squid, you have to plot the course to travel round behind it then shoot it in the back.
I for one, am seriously looking forward to this game.

Thanks for the replies. Don't get me wrong, I'm looking forward to the game, I just think controlling with the stylus will take a bit to get used to. Still, a good idea for the player to be able to add notes to the map.

I am more worried about damaging my screen with frantic sword swings. I'm fairly sure it will be good once we get used to it.
I knew I bought my DS for something and now I remember - to play Zelda!
To be honest my DS doesn't really get used much as I'm a bit dissapointed with the games I've got (new mario, yoshis island, brain training 1), but now, at last, a reason to start using it again.
I just dont know how I'm going to be able to afford all the games that are being released in the next few months...

Why not have a look around for yourself? But please, do a search rather than post randomly in any odd thread. I'm sure there is a thread somewhere discussing DS game prices.
