R4 language change

guys, i bought a DS from Hong Kong when i was there few days ago, the package come with 1GB Micro SD and R4, charger. But the R4 is V1.09 Chinese firmware. I did some research and went to R4 website to download and install the newer V1.10 English firmware, it gives an error msg of incompatible hardware or language, so i was wondering if we can change the firmware language? thanks.

is it a big problem. i think the only way of changing the language is by changing the firmware to match the country you live in. if that doesn't work, i can't see any options to change languages. surely it still works fine with the chinese on it, does the games titles still come up in english?

yes title comes out in English, but those pop up things are Chinese. hmm, in that case, i think its not possible to change to English. :(

I think the r4ds cartridge is actually in chinese. I buy a sell quite a few of these and the place I get them from always has 'english' in the title.
