Default Nintendo DS -- Wii

I just found out there that the Ds can communicate with the Wii wirelessly. I was just wondering, what does this allow the DS to do? And also, are there any Wii games which currently use this feature?

I've heard that the DS will soon (if not, already) be able to be used as a controller for the Wii.

Really? Sounds good, anyway! I just hope it's used better than the Gamecube - GBA linkup was!

I've never used the feature but I understand the DS can download game demos from special NDS Wifi hotspots. I wonder if anyone has managed to intercept and decode the protocol with a view to producing some kind of home game server to all play homebrew software.

I can't imagine many companies concentrating on using the DS as a controller for the Wii since the number of people with both systems is going to be pretty low (in the grand scheme of things)
