I've watched the IGN videos and it looks like a bit of fun, my lad wants it as his mates all have it, can I ask the people here what keeps you coming back to it ?
Million dollar question!
I cant put my finger on it, its not a game as such but I keep going back for more! Just a relaxing end to the day!
Sorry cant be more specific!
is it a bit like the sims, or in a way big brother but you control your character completely and interact with others, and i think the biggest attraction is online play where you meet other players online or something

The big thing about AC is that the game continues even if you're not there. So the people in your town continue to hold events, move in, move out etc New plants and trees grow/die. So if you miss one day, you have no idea what you would've missed!
At it's most basic you can just wander around fishing and collecting fruit to sell to play off your mortgage and get increasingly bigger houses, but you can also customise your whole town and spend ages designing how you want it to look.
While on my Holiday I put down a road all around the town!
Took ages, but I'm happy with it
And then there's the online where you can meet up with people in their town, or yours, and just hang out doing whatever.
It's a hard one to explain, but well worth it if you can get it for a decent price.
