DS dead/stuck pixels

Just before I get mine, does anyone have issues with this?

My PSP had 2, my first projector (which I returned) had one......I'm not 100% lucky when it comes to LCD screens :(

In case you're unsure, a stuck pixel is lit white/red/blue/green....and a dead pixel is unlit (therefore appears as black).

If I get them, can I return it to the shop (Gamestation) for a swap? Most people say that you can but the main GS in town center disagreed and said they'd only swap if it had 10 dead pixels or more (cheeky b**tards ).
The other GS in my town said I could even with 1 pixel (however, that's not exactly in writing so I'd rather be safe than sorry).
Individual shops seem to have their own ideas.

Would I be able to return it to ninty UK for a replacement in the case of dp's?


Sorry for all the Q's but I really do have bad luck with screens sometimes .

I've had two DS Lites and neither have had dodgy pixels.

I'm sure Ninty service center replaces them if you do get some though.

With Laptops and Monitors the tolerances are something like 5 dead pixels if clumped together before they class it as defective.

If in doubt... enquire as to what tolerences are regarding DP's before buying...

The other option would be to get the shop to turn it on before you walk out with it. There is usually a small amount of charge in the battery so you could test it before you take it away.

On a side note, I happen to know that currys digital staff have been given flyers detailing "new DSlite" due to be here "before the end of the year".

It's probably the new colours that have been rumoured (navy, red and green) and I think from that statement that they'll get here for Xmas 07.

Won't stop me getting a white one now though...I can still get 9 months use out of it

Well, they were not from ninty....they were from "Head office", so it's not exactly gospel

Went into Gamestation (again).....still no white DSlites




UPDATE: got it from gamestation......no dead pixels (yaay )

i have 1 single dead pixel on my ds. it's been there since i bought it and it doesnt really cause a problem and not usually visible, i still love my baby.

That tends to be true, 4 or fewer dead pixels are classed as OK and not a fault with your product when it comes for flat panel monitors.

Check with Nintendo before you buy if you are that concerned.

You could always power it up in the shop immediately after you have brought it and if you can see a faulty pixel you can refuse to leave the store before they exchange it for you.

i believe the psp was infamous for dead pixels, my brother in law had one and it had like 15 dead pixels and loked awful. did sony ever rectify this problem?
