I have found that you need to be right at the back of the town to hit a balloon. It's much tougher than on the Wii, isn't it!

I've only successfully shot one down as well!

I've never seen Pete in the air, nor a UFO, which apparently is a part of this game (I've only heard a UFO once on the Wii so they must be ultra-rare).

Re Watering - I only water the wilted flowers. I am not trying to create hybrids (although I now have about 6 in my house), as I am waiting patiently for the gold can. Only then will I cluster the flowers into arrangements. At present they are just scattered all over the place. As I understand it, each time you water only lasts for one day, but flowers seem to randomly wilt each day. So I don't think you CAN over-water. You just need to water the wilted flowers.

Each hybrid that I have accidentally created (all of'em) have appeared by flowers that have NOT been regularly watered, so it is very different from the Wii in that respect. All it seems to take in this game is to put the appropriate flowers next to each other, and water them if they wilt.

I've always found it a lot easier to shoot the balloons down from the very top of the town (like Sue). I've never been able to gauge an effective shot any lower down than a handful of spaces.

Rather than carrying the slingshot around all the time with me I've invested in a couple more and have them spaced out over the top of my town. That way I needn't stress if I'm not carrying one and I can just leg it upwards ahead of the balloon, and 'POP'!

I've no idea where Postman Pete comes into things, but I do know I've only seen the flying saucer once, and that was as it slid out of the playing area.

Sue - I'm surprised you haven't gotten that golden watering can yet. Darn. I've been hoping and hoping I'd get one soon. I too have given up watering all but the wilted flowers. Even flowers that I watered were wilting, so I gave up trying to do the whole town. If they die, they die. They're appearing all over the town anyway.

Squigs - that's a good idea living the sling shots uptown. That would save pocket space. I shot down my 2nd balloon yesterday. I ran like a madwoman to catch up with it - crashing into trees and the side of museum on the way.

I've got perfect town ... at least I'm getting Jacob ladders so I'm assuming it's 'perfect'? How long do I need to keep it perfect before getting the can? Is it 12 days like the Wii version? (This is why I'm surprised Sue doesn't have it yet. She's had perfect town for a while now.)
