I've just been looking at video's of this, and let's just say I was rather happy to hear that Vader and Yoda would be characters on it. However I then look at Wikipedia and find out that Vader is only on the PS3 version, and vice versa for Yoda on the 360.
Why do this?! What benefit is this giving to anyone?
This is no different than II having Link only on the GC version.
The characters have been colour co-ordinated with the consoles for marketing purposes.
Green Yoda = green XBox 360
Black Vader = Black PS3.
This has been discussed before.
Games owned (that I play): EA Playground, Endless Ocean, Excite Truck, Ghost Squad, Gottlieb Pinball, HotD, Kororinpa, Link’s Crossbow Training, Mario Kart, Mario Party 8, MySims, Pinbusters, RE:UC, Super Paper Mario, SSB Brawl, Wii Fit, Wii Play, Wii Sports
vader is cooler than Yoda, yoda is a little dweeb! PS3 wins again
I second this motion. I don't know. Like sue said, maybe color coordination. Also for the people who have both a PS3 and 360 (aka dont care about starving africans) it will persuade them to get the version for the character they like.
But why do it Sue? They can't possibly be getting any benefit out of it whatsoever and it surely doesn't take much more effort to code both characters into both versions. The only thing they're gonna get out of this is a lot of complaints from irate Star Wars/Soul Calibur fans isn't it?
Not necessarily. You didn't see complaints about Link not being in other versions. Plus how many people would actually use those characters. I see them more as goof off characters.
Lol, goof characters, I'd say they were one of the main attractions of buying the game for me, and I have owned some previous Soul Calibur instalments.
As for the Link thing, that's a bit different as he was a Nintendo character on a Nintendo game. Vader and Yoda aren't affiliated with either of the PS3 or 360, which are two directly competing systems as well.
It's kind of like the Wii getting Link on their version sometime after the PS3/360 version, if it's coming out for the Wii that is (doubtful).
