Wii Fit
Well the hype has hopefully died down now, so it's about time this was rated.
Give the game a rating out of 10, with 10 being excellent, 1 being poor. This will help to give people an idea as to how good the game is if they are considering to buy it.
Please consider your vote carefully, and only vote if you own the game. This may sound obvious, but there will always be one voting because they like the look of the game but haven't yet played it.
If you feel inclined to do so, take a few minutes to comment on why you gave the rating you did.
If you want to see a game you want to buy getting the same treatment, post a request in the sticky at the top of this section.
The most innovative game ever released for any console, in my opinion.
THis is a family experience in the fullest sense. You can all set up a profile then watch each other's progress and compete to get to the top of each game's scoreboard, all the while getting fitter andhopefully losing weight (if combining the experience with a sensible diet)
It loses a point for the lack of an online scoreboard, which would have been the bees' knees!
Games owned (that I play): EA Playground, Endless Ocean, Excite Truck, Ghost Squad, Gottlieb Pinball, HotD, Kororinpa, Link’s Crossbow Training, Mario Kart, Mario Party 8, MySims, Pinbusters, RE:UC, Super Paper Mario, SSB Brawl, Wii Fit, Wii Play, Wii Sports
Such a great way to use the wii and lots of fun. It is very motivational too, we have all started to watch what we eat since getting this LOL
I only mark this down as I feel it should take age into account. My daughter is only 15 and I do get a bit concerned at how it encourages weight loss on such a young and impressionable individual. I feel it should not use the same reprimands and congratulations for youngsters as it does for adults, they are more prone to eating disorders and I wonderer if this may encourage this.........maybe Im just a worried Mum
I've given it 10 out of 10 because I can't fault it. At the end of the day, it's not a game, it's a way of getting fit so no online scoreboard required. You work at your own pace, not try to beat everyone. I also think it caters for children and adults alike. It specifically asks your age, sex and height so takes into account what your BMI should be, and unlike Brain Training, your fitness age is based around your own age, not the lowest being 20.
The whole family uses it in my house, even my son who needs to beef up a little bit to be at his ideal BMI for his height. He isn't underweight, but IS like a beanpole as he's growing upwards and not outwards!
I've found it extremely helpful as it means I'm not paying out hundreds of pounds for a gym membership that won't get used because I feel too self conscious, plus it's a fun alternative which you can vary day by day to suit your needs.
It's not perfect, that's why I could only vote 9 out of 10. It's the only thing that's got me regularly exercising, unfortunately working 12 to 14 hour days over the last few weeks have made it hard for me to get on, but that doesn't change my opinion. It's ace.
I've been a bit mean and given it 8/10, it is a very innovative game but it would have been nice to have a few more aerobic exercises (even more step challenges would have been good) as I've done them so often now I know whats coming (lets face it the three running events are essentially the same thing).
Balance games are good though and I think theres enough depth to Muscle and Yoga exercises.
I've lost about half a stone since using it so its gotta be good, the rest of the family weighed themselves got ideal rating and never really used it much since.
I've given it a 9. The WiiFit is a brilliant piece of kit, and to me it was well worth the money. I would pretty much recommend it to anyone who is serious about putting the time and effort into it. My raves about this were so high that both my 72-year-old mother, and 53-year-old sister bought this AND a Wii for themselves. And a few friends from work are now looking to buy it as well.
Both my husband and I thought we would hate the yoga, but we think it's great. And I thought I'd feel too much of a fool to jog in place in my living room, but I don't at all. My husband goes for a 10-minute jog every morning before his shower and breakfast. So we're doing exercises we'd never thought we'd do before, and certainly not things I'd care to do in public like the minutes of hula hoops I do every day.
But as someone who uses it every day, the only faults I have is the repetitiveness on the yoga (it always gives 2 health tips after each minute or so of posses .. I'd rather get on and keep going than stop to listen to it). And I wish there were more aerobic exercises. It's the reason I gave it a 9 instead of a 10. If Nintendo came out with an add-on disk with more to do on it, I'd love it.

I absolutely love it. Simple and clean like wiisports makes it as addictive as, well, wiisports. Actually started to enjoy doing yoga each day now - never thought it would do me much good but I feel better, and that counts for something. With the fun balence games - even jogging seems fun - you get that score each time to beat, and that pushes you further. Never mind the fact I'm apparently overweight (although it did say something about high-protein diets affecting your BMI - which I'm on) - just looking 'like a right rodney' doing the hula hoop makes it all worth while. Plus it's got the whole family competing against each other. It surprised me - seeing my dad snowboard and mum tightrope walking. Plus the games which are being developed for it (Hi Mr Hawks). Is it worth £70? Definately. A worthwhile investment in your wii...
