Finally picked this up the other day. I though about getting it when it first came out as I'm a big fan of the previous battlefield games, but I got the impression it was a more single-player based game(Previous battlefield games have awesome multiplayer! ) and the reviews averaged around 8/10. So I left it. Now it's available on the likes of ebay and Amazon Marketplace for a tenner and you could get it new for under £15.
...And it's well worth it! Been playing it now for just under a week and I'm loving it. The single player is very well done with a movie-like plot and a wicked sense of humour. This isn't a war game that takes itself seriously and it's all the better for it! Arguably, the big feature of this game is the frostbite engine, which allows you to destroy walls, Trees, Roofs, doors, fences etc, etc. I thought this would be a bit of a gimmick but it actually gives you a whole new tactical scope because you can now pretty much create your own cover by blowing a whole in the ground, or get a better view from the loft of a house my making a big hole in the roof!
It works even better on the Multiplayer, especially in Conquest mode, because it's 2 teams facing off to capture a series of 'flags' which are dotted around the map. It's the classic BF multiplayer mode and it wasn't included in the original BF:BC release, but they made it free DLC not long ago(Along with 4 free maps! ). I prefer it to the other mode(Gold Rush) because it's more even and more tactical. Gold Rush is based on defenders and attackers, so it gives you that variety.
Overall, I think this is a severely underrated and overlooked Xbox FPS that has clearly just been lost in an overcrowded genre. If you've played a BF game before and liked it, you'll know what to expect and if you haven't it's well worth the < £15 you can get it for 9/10
I guess we should see what everyone else thinks now...

Can I just say, do the same company run both asda's and tesco's website because there is 5p difference between the prices and they both have the same code "9966398"?????? Plus a very similar website page layout??????? Strange.....
I'm playing this on and off on PS3 and, I've got to say, it's pretty good! I agree about the extra dimention added by the destructable environment, and I love that you can (somehow) make walls and bin bags explode with a power drill I both like and dislike the health injection mechanism as it keeps the action flowing instead of having to wait to respawn yet it somewhat takes away some skill needed to play, at least with health that replenishes over time you get killed at some point. Overall, I'd give it an 8, a good, solid game which, as you said Foo, makes a serious topic much more lighthearted (other than the shooting folk bit...).
BF:BC was one of the first titles I played on the 360 when I got it, and I was impressed with the campaign mode for all the reasons Foo outlined in his opening post, I had a bit of multiplayer on Gold Rush mode but I wasn't overly impressed (probably cos due to lack of a hard drive at the time I couldn't go on the other modes or maps, and also it was the first shooter I played on the 360 after playing CoD 5 on the Wii I found the controls difficult to master, but I would imagine now I have better control and a HD I would get more enjoyment from it if I went back.
