Well, they are usually great to use in CTFs if you are defending. And also great for long ranging if you are good with doing that.

When a DM gets packed with Bazookas, that's when it gets annoying.

The garand (rifle) isn't very accurate. LMGs are more accurate than the garand. Pistols are more accurate than the garand. It's a shame, but true. The garand bullets can go in 6 different paths (each position in the W when iron sighting and a bit above these 3 positions). Because of that i'm going to say garand is not more accurate than the karabiner.

Nor is mp40 more powerful than the thompson - the mp40 is the weapon requiring most headshots for a kill in the entire game. IIRC it's somewhere between 6 and 10 bullets while the thompson is only 4-6.
Springfield and gewehr are equal in power (OHKO headshot, and 2 bodyshot kills), i find springfield no scoping to be less random, but some people seem to disagree so most likely identical as well.

i tested gewher and springfield against walls,springfield is definatley more accurate.Maybe people think gewher is better unscoped because it requires less skill and is more luck based

Oh,I can adapt myself. It's not that I use this all the time,since I do have my luger and my fists. It's just some basics,that I used to use nearly all the time. Of course,I still use this,but like I said,I can adapt.
Anywayz,the Thompson is more accurate AND more powerful then the MP40. It's just like Lars said. I do agree with the fact that MP40 is inaccurate in comparision to the Thompson Because you can actually get random headshots from midrange while aiming for the entire body of your opponent.
Karabiner > Garand in both accuracy and strengh.Karabiner actually is pretty accurate,once you figured out how the bullets will flow. It's the same pattern all over again. The further the enemy is away,the more you have to aim with the top of the scope. And for quite long distances,the karabiner shots slightly to the left of the scope (that's where the bullet will come out).
I didn't have to check the garand,since I find it's longrange pretty crap
But the garand owns the karabiner in factor fun.

I can give you lots of karabiner tips, if you want some maybe you can tell me what problems you have playing with karabiner.
I can probably tell you what to do to better it.

About the garand, I like it quite a lot. But I only replace my springfield by it when in a crowded server and in a small map.
Then it's more of a thompson replacement really.
