Question Manual v Auto

This may have already been asked before, I have tried a search but cant find it.
My Question is What is the difference (may sound Obvious) the only thing that stands out is the direction in which you can aim your weapons.
also does it mean you change gear if so how?

The main differences are that with manual you're able to get small boosts by skidding for a period of time and have better handling for corners (in my opinion).

I don't use the Wheel but to manually skid using the Mote+Chuck, you press button B.

Basically Auto is for new people, however I stuck with it. Online there are many people who use Manual (to gain power boosts) but aren't good enough to master it and fail.

I think manual is better if you master it, however I think auto is used by most.

Son prefers manual, hubby prefers automatic. Me? Couldn't care less, I just like watching it! To be honest though, son doesn't seem to have much of an advantage over hubby even with the small boosts and wheelies and stuff.

Auto means no boost when you drift, manual means there is drift.

I feel manual is easier, auto was awkward
