Today the Godfather blackhand edition is released on the nintendo wii and it looks to be a true inspiration of what the Wii can do if developers try push the bar.

25 combat moves which involve the wiimote, it's like wii boxing on the go with more depth. I've swung Links sword and now it's time to strangle some common gangsters, knock some heads and do some executions goodfellas style!
Joe Pesci reminds people not to **** him off in Goodfellas
Funny guy, he's really funny.
Still where Godfather actually accels at being the first 18+ game on the Nintendo Wii. The story delves deeper because as im sure you know Nintendo had a reputation of being the childrens choice of gaming, there was a severe lack of noticable violent games on the gamecube and i'm curious, what is there for people on wii who like the blood, gore and gangfare?
Incoming violence on Nintendo's Wii
Scarface the world is yours
Who hasn't seen this terrific movie about the modern day Macbeth who gets himself 'high on his own supply' ?
Hopefully nobody but if you haven't you may want to stop reading this paragraph and go to the next or better yet go watch the film.
Set in a reality where Tony won the mansion shootout and needed to get back on top, this game was a big hit on the ps2 and xbox and is now getting a wii makeover and I for one will be picking it up out of sheer movie fanfare, that and I get a chainsaw to clean up the mean streets.
Manhunt 2
Gritty, messed up, over the top and sited as a cause of murder in our very own country, Manhunt was a game that sold on the merits that nowhere should sell it. Playing as a malicious killer fresh off death row as you fight the king of snuff films. Nintendo publically denounced games of this sort as 'not the future of gaming' and shot themselves in the foot as the developers decided not to put them on the GC. As disturbing and mature as this francise is some people will like it and it's a privilage as well as marketing sense to have on a Nintendo system.
No more heroes
Who remembers Killer7? it's cited as the best game on the cube that nobody played and featured a deep, gritty postmodern experience with a very weird artistic style.
No more heroes is the next game from that company but this one looks dam tasty. Set in Santa Destroy assasin Travis Touchdown must hunt down all the mercinaries to become the no 1 and have all the power that brings. The artistic style alone merits your attention.
With a handful of intresting mature games coming to the Wii I ask why did Nintendo not get credit before? why did developers make multiplatform mature games like Godfather and Medal of Honor shy away from the GC?
Theres no real answer, maybe Nintendo made decisions not to support mature content (then explain RE4 and Killer7)
Maybe the GC community only bought the cube for Nintendo titles and really wasn't intrested in mature licences.
Maybe all Nintendo fans really are kids... who don't need mature games?
Which is why I ask, what explains the perception that Nintendo GC was a console for children whereas the Xbox seems to feel the mature manly console?
And if your a mature person old enough to enjoy these new 18+ games, which are you picking up and how do you feel about strangling a guy with the Wii motion sensoring instead of innocently playing tennis or bowling?
