I've reached 2000 posts, time to introduce myself again! - WiiTalk

Well I've finally made it to 2000 posts, so I thought I would introduce myself a bit better than the last time.

As many of you know, I'm one of your friendly neighbourhood mods. I joined the forum in April, after seeing this thread: Wii Play - It has 2 unlockable hidden games
I had to sign up to view the thread, but when I did, it turned out to be false. However I stuck around to discuss all things Wii, and I'm glad I did.

I got promoted to mod in July, due to helping the existing mods out when there was a shortage. Some people might not like how I help run the forum, but trust me, I'm much more forgiving than some other forum's mods!!

My real name is Garry, and I live in the South West of England. I'm a fan of the James Bond films, if you hadn't already guessed. I got my Wii in February, just before half term after months of searching for one.

I've got to know some people really well on the forum, but here are the people who stand out:
21stcenturykid, wii_man74 and Craig - The mod/admin team
FooFan, Alphaman, OakyBoy, red daze, LandShark, wiimadjay (although we did have a few differences to begin with!) and mewmaxwii.

And for those longer serving members, do any of you remember mcg06/mcg07/playstation3man/w14354654/wiiman1234. I had my run in with him on several occasions, as you can see from the amount of different usernames he used. Fortunately, he hasn't returned since, and the forum seems to have had a very friendly atmosphere lately.

Anyway that's enough from me! I'm not very good at introduction threads.

But now for the important stuff (In case you skipped the stuff at the top!): I would like to introduce the WiiTalk awards to mark my reaching of 2000 posts!! This is where we will draft up a list of categories, like Funniest Member or Most Helpful Member, and then everyone can nominate people for each of the categories. Member's will then vote, and the winner of each category will receive a custom title.

I'm open to suggestions for categories, or ways on how to run it successfully, so keep a look out for a thread that I will make soon. I just thought I would announce it, to give everyone something to look forward to.

May I be the first to congratulate you Jb on your 2000th post.

You have always been helpful and couldnt ask for more off you. Thanks for being so helpful (anybody would think you are leaving!)

Anyway, well done on the milestone and great idea btw to celebrate it!!

Congratulations! Your idea of running some awards is great.

Can I suggest that you start them off a few days apart rather an all at once. Start with Most Helpful or whatever, give us all 7 days to nominate people, then do a poll listing all those nominated and give us another 7 days to vote - maybe give us 3 votes each or something, so that there will be a clear winner.

You've finally reached the biggest of milestones, 2000 posts!

Everyone of those 2000 has been helpful, funny or informative, and on behalf of WiiTalk I want to say thanks!

I'm sure I speak for everyone with that.

Once again, well done and keep up the good work!

Your awards idea sounds great, I can already think of alot of people I want to nominate.

Here's some ideas for categories:

Best avatar.

Best username.

Best signature.

Best thread.

Just a couple of ideas that popped in to my head.

Anyway, I'm sure you'll come up with something great.
