Am I too old?

Hello,

I'm thinking I might be a bit old at 40 to be playing the wii but I love it, so I don't care.

I have never owned a console in my life but I have been a gamer for 20 of those 40 years but on computers, such as the Sinclair ZX series through Commodores, BBC Model B and various PC's. My first being an Amstrad 386DX which I bought second hand to play X-Wing on.

I haven't played any sort of serious games since HalfLife Team Fortress Classic, my wife told me I was too old to be playing online with a bunch of kids!

Then I got a chance to play the wii. I was addicted to bowling the first night we played at a friends house. After the kids had been put to bed (and a few beers) the 'adults' got stuck in. It's the gameplay, the interaction, that makes it so addictive.

I've added Tiger Woods 08 and Splinter Cell to the wiiSports, a classic controller and another wiiremote is on it's way. I've downloaded a Sonic 3, Donkey Kong and one of the Mario games and I'm re-living my yoof

All I need now is a 50" plasma

Welcome to the forum! You're never too old for the Wii! There are a couple of member's on here who are in their 50s and even 60s. And there was a Sun article which said that some 103 year-olds enjoyed playing on their Wii in their nursing home!

Hello and welcome to the forum!

The Wii is also my first ever games console. I began my gaming life with an Oric 1 48K, then moved on to a Commodore 16 plus 4, then the Sinclair ZX Spectrum +2B, then an Escom PC and now I have a HP Laptop and a Wii.

You are never ever too old for a bit of gaming. My dad hates games but now he plays mario strikers online with me! Ace!

i think nintendo has attaned there goal of geting older people in to gaming

If anything, judging by the posts above I'm beginning to get the impression that you might be too young. But who cares what people think, so long as no one is getting hurt do what ever makes you feel good.
