Thumbs up Wii Internet

Thanks for the info.

I already have a wireless laptop that my two kids argue over. Is it worth paying 500 points to use it via the Wii? ie. could they still access the majority of sites ie. to do their homework or to use messenger. If, so how much does 500 points cost? Thanks

Virtually all sites are avaliable .
500pts works out at £3.50(I think)

Messenger is not easy.. .. .. there are MSN alternatives (I believe) that work but it's not really an option.. .. ..

Wii points can be bought from the shop channel at 1000 points for £7, or you can buy them on the highstreet.. .. .. Woolworths is the cheapest at £13.99 for a 2000 point card. (Doing the maths, 500 points is £3.50)

Once you have paid for the browser there are no other charges apart from the regular cost of your broadband.

Are there any limits to what this machine will do.? Amazing for the price, my kids will be impressed and it will stop them argueing over the laptop (they will probably start argueing who is going to do their homework via the Wii now!!)
Cheers

Your Wii doesn't have a nickname. The "Console Nickname" thingy on the forum is just where you can put the general name that you use when playing games on the console, it's not a definitive thing.

I found it annoying that Opera is on the box for the Wii yet not bundled sw, you would think Opera would have given liscence freely to advertise their browser. I use Opera on my laptop to browse wml sites and its a nifty little browser with built in torrent client installed.
