Greetings Everyone in Wii Land! - WiiTalk

Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen,

I'm a newbie to the site and thought I'd write a quick post.

Having resisted buying any of the latest gen of consoles I finally succumbed and bought a Nintendo Wii two days ago. The console came bundled with Wii Sports and Lego Indy. I also picked up Wii Play and am looking forward to adding some other titles like Mario Kart and either Pro Evo or Fifa in the near future.

So far so good as I've had a quick go of the Wii Sports game and am enjoying Lego Indy. I've also downloaded some other titles such as the classic Super Mario World (N64) and TV Show King.

Basically, I'm a casual gamer looking to get the most out of my Wii and try out this online gaming everyone keeps telling me about. My history as a gamer goes back to the Commodore 64/Specturm and Sega Master System days. I then moved on, like many, to the Sega Mega Drive, SuperNES, Amiga, followed by a number of PC's, N64 and most recently the original Xbox.

Looking forward to taking part in the forums more frequently over the coming months and hopefully make a friend or two.

Any suggestions for games or tips to utilise my new Wii console would be most welcome. Also anyone know of a good UK based podcast show about the Wii console and games? - I've found a couple online but am always keen to listen to quality shows on any topic.

I'll end with a question (apologies if it is glaringly obvious) but can I play any of my current games online with people?

Again, at the moment I have Wii Sports, Wii Play, Lego Indiana Jones and have downloaded Super Mario World from the N64 and TV Show King.

Hello and welcome to the forum. Games to look out for, Super Mario Galaxy - an excellent game, good fun. Medal of Honour 2 Heroes - the online play is excellent if you enjoy first person shooters, campaign mode not so great. Super Smash Brothers Brawl - Only came out today, again excellent beat 'em up both with friends and online - the fever is currently sweeping the forum. Enjoy!!

Hey ynneBenny, thanks for the quick response and welcome. I'll certainly look into picking up Super Mario Galaxy and the other titles you mentioned.
