Default Competition Pro Sports Pack Review.

Still new to the site, but I figured I may at least try and put something in as everyone as been really helpful so far.

So, here was the deal, I'd bought Pangya Golf, and having spent day upon day calling the 'pute a cheat, I decided to buy a golf adapter.

A quick trip down to your friendly Game store, and £15 lighter I made my way back home with the 'Competition Pro Sports Box'

A nice looking set comprising of a Golf Club, Baseball Bat, Tennis Racquet, Steering wheel and a Wii Remote case/adapter for the first three accessories mentioned.

All ready to go I unpacked said items carefully, laying them out in awe at what a great prezzie I'd bought myself.... and then I started to use them....

The Golf Club:

Primarily the reason behind buying the set in the first place, something became very obvious extremely quickly. The hard plastic case that the remote sits in has a screw thread on the end so the Racket, Bat and Club are interchangeable.

This throws up the major flaw for all three accessories... You can't point the remote at the screen to control menus or options.

I've found myself constantly taking the Club off in order to change spin, select menus etc. Some functions can be bypassed by hitting buttons on the remote, but generally speaking, it can be a real pain in the bum.

To give the products some credit though, they are made from very chunky plastic. Although I've been screwing and unscrewing the Golf Club for a couple of months now with more than regular play, I've not had any problems with wear or tear on it at all.

I have found that using the adapter lifted my game immensely, although I'll never see ,yself out on a real course playing the sort of shots you can oull off here.

One thing to bear in mind... It says it has an extendible arm.... Extend it, I scared the missus twice when I forgot and it shot out as I swung the club, but even then it didn't break or come out. Oh, and as always, watch out for the lampshades... we're on our third since I got the Club.

The Baseball Bat:

A good weighty attatchment allowing for a very satisfying swing, but again the problem with using the remote to select options. Again, very sturdy and comfy to use.

The Tennis Racket:

A really nice feature of the Racket is that you can fit 2AAA batteries in the handle and when you're making shots 4 blue LED's light up around it giving a kind of blue light trail effect in the dark.

Again, strong build, very robust, but again the problem with menu selection.

The Steering Wheel:

Not having any driving games to try this out on (yet) it would be unfair to comment on performance, but as an accessory, it's nicely built, comfortable and holds the Remote comfortably.

I can however see the same old problem with Menu selection.

Overall:

A robust and well made box set of accessories at a reasonable price. If you can overcome the obvious flaw mentioned throughout this review, I'd recommend these as a cheap stepping stone until something else takes your fancy.

9/10

Squigs.

You know I've looked at this pack and contemplated many times getting something like it. Then, I shoot -4 in wii golf without it and say "meh."

I've done fine with the wiimote itself, as long as it has the condom on. Never work without protection, I always say.

Out of curiosity, is this set a knock off set or does it have a brand name associated with it? Here stateside, there are a few knockoffs, but there's also one with the nerf name attached to it, as well as another. Just curious, since you also talked about the menu problem.

Nice work.

Menu Selection, it may be a bit slower in moving around but it is just as easy in my opinion. To be honest, the best part is the wheel, just as good as the one you get with mario kart except not looking as nice in looks

Hiya Sherlock.

If you mean by 'Knockoff', not an official Nintendo product, that's right. I think the company is actually called Power Play and are UK based.

Hopefully I;ve managed to include a couple of pictures showing the set. Bear in mind that you DON'T get the Remote and Nunchuck in the package

The set with the racket attatched to the Remote holder.
