YES!!, got rid of my wii!!

i got rid of it a few days ago and got my new PS3 yesterday!! the PS3 is a much better system. more media, MUCH MUCH MUCH better graphics and the online play is better. looks fantastic. putting all my photos, videos and all my MP3 on it today! getting an 42" HDTV soon for it and blu ray movies will look the best! i can also put my memory card duo and mini SD in there. remote play id good with the PS3 via psp
so, i just hope you all get rid of your wii's and buy the lovely PS3. the games were rubbish, and i just think it is a little toy for children!

I suppose your comments are fair if you really didn't like it but going on your feedback it sounds like you were expecting things of the Wii that it wasn't designed for

Anyone buying a wii thinking it is going to have jawdroppingly beautiful graphics and be a home entertainment centre is doomed from the start. The idea of the wii is to be fun and different and shouldn't ever really be compared to a PS3 as its in a completely different league...

But glad to hear your happy and also that you have enough money to buy a PS3 and a big telly.. Although in all fairness I would have wanted something bigger than 40" if I was that bothered about graphics

i'm sure anyone could tell you the benefits of the ps3
but you've overlooked a few points
-the price: i could buy a wii and a new car for that money
-the graphx: ps3 looks worse than my wii on my 14" TV
-the controller: wii may be gimicky just now while developers get used to it but the ps3s aint much better than the ps2 which was worst pad ever
-the games: all the games on ps3 are either rubbish, poor ports of the 360 version or direct ps2 translations in HD with all the content removed.
-the reliability: my brother in laws ps3 is plagued by dodgy blu-ray disc playing and massive power consumption.
i'm sure things will improve for the ps3 but until the price, software and reliability get sorted, buy a wii and when you upgrade you'll still get more back than you paid for it.

I don't give a damn about graphics, I like fun games. The Wii wins in that category.
Online play is better? The Wii hasn't even got started yet, so how do you know it will be better.
Photos and videos can also be played on the Wii, no benefit there.
I'm sorry to rant, but people are here because they like discussing all things Wii, mainly because they love playing on the Wii. Therefore, telling everyone on a WII forum to buy a PS3 instead is not going to achieve much.
Granted, you're entitled to your opinions, but how did you come to the conclusion the Wii is a toy for children. A poll on the board recently showed that the majority of Wii owners are over the age of 30 (on this forum at least).

well of course the PS3 will look rubbish on a 14" TV. Why have that sort of TV. but now i have a 28" widescreen on my PS3 and it still looks great but will look even better once i get the HDTV.

the wii had poor games and i was just like a gamecube or the PS2's eye toy. i just dont see the pint in it. i think it's just like a gamecube with a remote and some stupid internet which never worked for me but my PS3 worked fine.


if you can't afford the PS3 with a decent TV, get the PS2. far more games and it has a DVD player!

The head of IGN.com reckons the best set up to have is both a wii and a PS3. Awww, look at that, you almost got to be cool......

thats what ive said all along ... ps3 and wii is the perfect combo ... wii for fun interactive and mainly multiplayer and ps3 for top of the range graphics and Blu-ray movies.

Ok the wii graphics are naff but its still fun to play, especially if they drop the prices of the games which they appear to be doing.

I just hope that the wii remote gets better becuase most games that use it well at the moment stuill dont use it that well often not picking up your movements correctly ot not at all in some cases!

looking at your posts in the other threads it seems that you have had a major falling out with your Wii... and in turn seem to have a great dislike for everyone else who has one..

I'm 25 and bought the Wii because its fun and different, I had a PS2 that I sold to get some funds to buy the Wii and every game I had for it I hated and the controller was really uncomfortable for me. I certainly wouldn't call it a kids console... in fact is there any such thing as a kids console?? some people would call you sad for playing games when your an adult regardless of how expensive your console was....

P.S. if you hate it that much why are you posting on a Wii forum and not a PS3 forum?

Sorry to hear the Wii wasnt for you and I hope you are enjoying your new PS3.

I'm still amazed at the amount of people who thought the Wii was going to have the best graphics of all time! They're not bad but this console was not designed to be the best graphical console of all time, but simply to be a fun system that anyone can play! Try getting your 83yr old gran to play on a PS3!

And before anyone says it, I'm not suggesting that the Wii is for old age pensioners! Its for everyone.
