Wii more popular than PS3

According to the latest sales figures show that the Wii is seriously out demanding the PS3.

I think though there is a huge difference in target market sectors for the Wii.

The PS3 is a serious gamers console where the Wii is more family fun and I think Nintendo were clever in there advertising campaign where they have show adverts of adults all shapes and sizes getting to grips with the Wii.

I suspect that there are many Mums and Dads out there looking forward to thier kids opening up the Wii as much as they are!

For sure, the wii has a universal appeal - I think it was Sarah Alexander on the Paul O'Grady show the other day that said she was hoping for a Wii for christmas

My mum loves my Wii she always asks for a go when im on it!! its such a good console so much better than the ps3 in terms of pure fun!

How do you know? Have you played a PS3? I'm really curious, I love my Wii but I have never played a PS3 before.

well ps3 is basicly a ps2 with better gfx and Wii is way more fun that a ps2 i knw its not exactly the same thing but it is very similar!

It's sooooo true - what's the point of better graphics just for the sake of it - surely improved gameplay is the order of the day.

More than you think, obviously! The Wii can play Gamecube games, oh and you might find this hard to believe, but the Wii also has it's own web browser. If you'd explored the Wii more, you might have discovered these things.

Photos and videos can also be played through and external SD card, and a keyboard is in development for the Wii as we argue!

And what can the Wii do that the PS3 can't? I think you forgot to mention these points, so I'll refresh your memory. It can download a huge back cataloge of past games which are among some of the most popular. It also offers a new style of gameplay, rather than settling for the far too easy improved graphics option. Wiis are accessible to everyone.

And before anyone accuses me of being a Nintendo fanboy, or someone who can't afford a PS3, I'm not either (even though I love Nintendo consoles). If I thought a PS3 was worth the money, I would buy one. But for a third of the price I can buy a much more fun system, which doesn't waste money on incorporating a BluRay player which will never get off the ground while DVDs are still relatively new and still popular.
