Default Wii Explodes!!!
Two young american chaps (age 9 and 12 - I think) were playing their new nintendo Wii console when it exploded in front of them!!!
The debris from the reasonable size blast hit one player in the eye, damaging his left eye. The other player was holding the contoller when an unusual electrical surge ran straight to the controller through the beam. His hand tendons were damaged, but he may recover.

I heard of this on american news whilst watching TV.

Wow some people are really stupid! You couldn't get a surge off an IR beam. Maybe if you held your hand in an IR beam for years you might eventually get a bit of a burn.
